THE TRUTH IS WITH US FOREVER

     Pontius Pilate asked Jesus our Lord, "What is truth?" (Jno
18:38).  This question was asked after Jesus had said to Pila-
te, "For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come
into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth.  Every-
one who is of the truth hears My voice" (vs. 37).  Jesus plain-
ly said, I am...the truth" (Jno. 14:6).  He pronounced to His
disciples, "You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free" (Jno. 
8:32).

     The apostle John says that the truth abides with us and
will be with us forever (2 Jno. 2).  John's statement is based
on the fact that Jesus is the truth.  Jesus is eternal!  So, the
truth is with us forever.

     God's Word is Truth (Jno. 17:17).  Followers of Christ abide in the 
truth and they practice the truth (Jno. 8:31; 1 Jno. 1:6).  Truth is the companion 
of a Christian.  The Spirit
of God directs and influences daily the disciple as He dwells
on the Word of Truth.

     Truth guides the path of the children of God.  The apostle
John rejoiced to know that some of the elect lady's children
were walking in the truth (2 Jno. 4).  John goes on to explain,
"And now I plead with you, lady, not as though I wrote a new
commandment to you, but that which we have had from the
beginning: that we love one another.  This is love, that we
walk according to His commandments.  This is the command-
ment, that as you have heard from the beginning, you should
walk in it" (2 Jno. 5,6).

     Jesus is forever, and His love is forever, and His truth is
