Brethren and Friends, Jim Sasser here.  Here is a look at an activ-
ity that is highlighting this subject even as we speak.  Use to the
glory of God.

THE VERY HEIGHT OF INCONSISTENCY AND HYPOCRISY

     Our government, especially the left wing of it, and our maj-
or media sources have been denigrating Christianity and its
presence in any public forum.  It has been taken from our pub-
lic schools and denied a showing in any other public square.
Politicians that call upon their Christian faith and their belief
in Jehovah God are ridiculed and belittled and are accused of
mixing church and state.  This is all true on every occasion
with the exception of the Catholic Religion.

     At this very moment the government officials and all the
major media are bowing and scraping before the face of the
Pope of Catholicism.  They bow before him and drool about
him and kiss his hand.  But he accepts such and actually
believes that he is the head of all religion of the world as the
successor of Christ upon the earth.  How hypocritical and in-
consistent can people be.  The Bible knows nothing about
such a person being the successor of Christ upon the earth,
except to deny and rebuke such person and teaching.  Every
man and every woman has been created equal upon this earth by God Himself.  
He gives no religious headship to any
man, but requires of every man obedience to His Word the 
Bible.  If anyone is saved from sin and goes to heaven, he will
have obeyed from the heart the doctrine of Christ that is found in the New 
Testament.  All others will wind up in hell,
the destiny of all that obey not the gospel of our Lord and
Savior, Jesus Christ.

     Let us now look at another practice that is the very height
of inconsistency and hypocrisy.  Our government is crying
out for human rights.  It, to a great degree, is calling upon our
president to not attend the opening of the Summer Olympics
that will be held in Beijing, China because of the failure of the
Chinese government to grant religious freedom and civil rights to its people. 
 They say that this denies the rights of
all mankind to live life in a free society.  Yet, while crying out
for China to do this, they do not allow unborn babies to be
born at the choice of the mother or doctor.  Innocent unborn
babies are murdered in the womb of its mother and is destroy-
ed in the process.  They cry with a loud voice to keep the law
on the books to allow mothers and doctors to make the decis-
ion and carry out the destruction of unborn human beings.

     Until such time as we realize that each and everyone is a
creation of Jehovah God, and that His Religion, as taught in
the New Testament, is the only religion that He accepts in 
this day and time, we will continue to try to legislate what a
person can or cannot do in the realm of religion, especially
when it is in a public forum of human beings.

     This is also true in the area of civil or human rights.  Jeho-
vah God has created us to play on a level play ground.  Each
one having the God-given right to serve Him.  We also have
the freedom to disobey Him.  But, He being our Maker, also
has the right to punish us as He sees fit.  He has told us in no
uncertain terms what our punishment will be if we try to limit
the freedoms of others and if we take innocent life.  

     I cannot be very receptive to the inconsistencies and hyp-
ocrises of our government and major media as they openly
violate the teaching of Jehovah God.  I will obey the laws of
the land as long as they do not violate the Law of God.  I will
honor the positions of those in government that rule over us.
I do not have to agree with what the teach or practice.  But to
any God-fearing person that knows what the Bible says on
these matters, such continues to be the very height of incon-
sistency and hypocrisy.   Think on these things, serve the
