Holy And Its Meaning
"Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy." (
<http://www.blueletterbible.org/kjv/1Pe/1Pe001.html#16> 1 Pet 1:16). Holy
means a person, place, time, or object set apart for service or worship of
God. Peter is encouraging others to separate themselves from the worldly
deeds and perform the service or worship to God.
In today's society, TV actors/actresses, money savaging TV evangelist, and
pop/country/rap singers muddy what holiness is. Their standards fail the
biblical teaching of holiness, but they have a large following!
Parents/guardians regulate the amount of time you and your young ones spend
digesting ungodliness!
"Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the Lord your God."
(Lev 20:7) The strength of being holy requires that one must determine to
separate themselves to serve God. Sanctifying means to have a prepared heart
(1 Pet 3:15) to focus upon God and serve Him acceptably, leaving behind the
spiritual filth and disease of the world. Phrases such as "Holy cow" are
unacceptable. Part of holiness is our conduct (1 Pet 1:15), which includes
our language
A religion based upon emotions and human devices, recognizing Jesus in name
only, refusing to give Him all glory, is a bloodless religion and an unholy
entity. How often have you wondered whether you are holy in your conduct and
place of worship? Here is your chance to receive an unbiased answer to your
questions! Call or write me!
