I Love You Jesus They All Said

"I love you Jesus" said a Christian named Nell
I love you more than tongue or pen can tell
Though I don’t often keep "The Golden Rule"
For some would think of me as a silly fool!
"I love you Jesus" said a Christian named Brook
I know I should spend more time with "the book"
I can hardly get my magazines and the paper read
Before I must get this old body of mine off to bed!
"I love you Jesus" said a Christian named Nick
I know your teaching says to "visit the sick"
Which also means to attend to their various needs
I can’t find the time would you excuse me please?
"I love you Jesus" said a Christian named Bill
I know I should "give" and I promise that I will
But the payment for my "bass boat" just came due
So I must use that money which should go to You!
"I love you Jesus" said a Christian named Sam
I owe it all to You for being what I now am
You died for my sins allowing me to go free
To be at all church services is too much for me!
They all "Claim to love Christ" it’s easy to see
But their excuses "don’t cut much ice" you see!
"If you love me obey me" Jesus has clearly said
I’d say the above folks are just spiritually dead!
