Brethren,

I think it was in the 1970s that a Japanese soldier was discovered on an
uninhabited Pacific island still defending the island against the USA.
He did not know that WWII had ended.

Spiritually speaking, it is very easy for us to get stuck on deserted
islands because the vast majority of the religious world are abandoning
their traditional dogmas. There are still conservatives in almost every
branch of protestantism but the majority are forsaking the older creedal
statements. There have been several splits and new denominations formed
among religious groups in the last ten years. One of the latest took
place this year among the "Brethren" denominations.

Three things that I would recommend keeping an eye on and researching are:

1. The Destiny movement and the Harvest movement.

2. The "Emerging Church" and missional living.

3. It turns out that Harry Potter is a religious series ( see "Harry
Potter and the Deathly Hallows ) the problem is: "What is the religious
message that the author is sending?"

These may very well turn out to be tomorrow's battlefields.

James
