[Biblemat] Q> Should we offer an invitation?

Greetings brethren,
Tom Thornhill JR of Bellflower, CA here with a question.
I hear that there are some churches (or preachers) that believe we 
should not or do not need to offer an invitation at the end of the 
worship service.  Does anyone have information on this? I would like to 
address the subject in an upcoming lesson.  Also I welcome lessons on 
why we should offer an invitation. E.g. - to give opportunity for the 
lost to obey the gospel, erring brethren opportunity to repent and 
confess publicly that which they need to confess, or simply to request 
our prayers.  Thanks in advance for all responses.
