"And they asked him, saying, Master, we know that thou sayest and teachest
rightly, neither acceptest thou the person of any, but teachest the way of
God truly:" ( <http://www.blueletterbible.org/kjv/Luk/Luk020.html#28> Luke
20:21) Even though these words were meant to trap the Lord (Luke 20:20),
they remain true of Jesus. Isaiah prophesied saying "Behold my servant, whom
I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my
spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles." (Matt 12:18)
When Jesus spoke, people listened, and ".were astonished at his doctrine:
for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes." (Mar
1:22)

            God desires we give His Son an attentive ear. At the
transfiguration of Moses and Elijah, the Father spoke from heaven and said
"This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him." (Matt
17:5) Jesus also warns us if we reject hearing Him and His words, (John
12:48) then we are not wise (Matt 7:26-27) and the cost is eternal
separation from Him.

Jesus is the "stone" that was rejected but is now the chief cornerstone, the
head of the church! (Mar 12:10; Col 1:18; Eph 2:20) His words are
authoritative both on earth and in heaven! (Matt 28:18) He who has an ear,
hear the ".Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say,
Come." ( <http://www.blueletterbible.org/kjv/Rev/Rev022.html#17> Rev 22:17)
