IS IT LAWFUL?

 

To heal on the sabbath? (Luke 14:1-6) This was asked by Jesus to lawyers and
chief Pharisees. They held their peace and Jesus healed a man who had the
dropsy.  Jesus in Matt 12:12 asked if it was lawful to do well on the
sabbath days. Three things should be considered.

1.      The Pharisees would keep the law to circumcise and pull an ox out of
the ditch but refused to do good unto their fellow man. (John 7:23) Jesus
openly showed the fallacy of their thinking!

2.      Jesus taught the weightier matters were judgment, mercy, and faith,
while doing the law as well. (Matt 23:23)

3.      By healing on the sabbath, Jesus revealed He is God over diseases
(John 20:30-31) AND of the sabbath! "And he said unto them, The sabbath was
made for man, and not man for the sabbath:" (
