Listening Leads to Learning

Listening promotes much learning
God gave us two ears and one mouth
We cannot take anything into our hearts
While constantly we’re putting things out
"A fool is known for his much speaking"
I know for Solomon in his wisdom stated
The fine art of listening needs cultivation
Learn this lesson and you’ll be elevated
Still there’s a time to speak that’s for sure
And there’s a time for each of us to refrain
Often we speak when we ought to be listening
Doesn’t this thought have a familiar ring?
I should speak in defense of Jesus’ word
I should never allow His truth be stifled
I should speak volumes by my lifestyle
But "the language of Ashdod" is trifle
..."Be swift to hear, slow to speak"
James advised in chapter one nineteen
We often reverse God’s good order
And oh what problems we’ve seen!
(Prov:29:11; James 3:1-18; Col. 4:6;
Matt. 12:34-37; Matt. 15:16-19)
