Sound Brethren

We know what it means to be legitimately "sound"
It means that one adheres to the divine instructions
These are folks upon whom you can always depend
Their life & teachings lead one clear of destruction!
It can be said that some brethren are "sound" for sure
All sound with very little born of Biblical instruction
Such "talk a good fight" all bluster mixed with brag
Such folks fill our hearts and souls with frustration!
Some have a ready answer to each difficult problem
They act as if they could well assist the Good Lord
But when you need them to stand up and be counted
It’s then you can’t get them to say "nary a word!"
In discussion they quickly condemn religious error
They freely condemn each and every denomination
While failing to apply the truth to their own lives
They surely are guilty of the same condemnation!
It’s always right for us to "contend for the faith"
Jude gave us this clear cut unmistakable instruction
But we must be careful to "practice what we preach"
If we hope to escape Hell’s everlasting destruction!

Matthew 7:1-3; Ecclesiastes 12:13-14; 1 Cor. 5:10).
