Good day brethren, Jessie Daniels here:

I will comment on the statement, on 1Timothy 1:20

Who among you wants to comment on the statement, found in 1 Timothy 1:20, "...whom I have turned over to Satan, So that they may learn not to blaspheme?" Can this be used to speak of somone who has been withdrawn from by the local congregation?   What does the phrase (turned over to Satan) actually mean?  May we do the same today?

1 Tim 1:20 Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme. KJV

[Delivered unto Satan] I believe Paul in writing to Timothy, giving us the same warning, of them that may teach false doctrine that we as Children of God must follow is teaching on delivering the false teacher unto Satan. 2 Tim 2:17-18 And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.
(turned over to Satan)
1 Cor 5:4-5 In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, ( that evidently is when the Church is gathered together) and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, (evidently is by the Authority of Christ) To deliver such an one unto Satan ( is evidently given back to the kingdom of Satan, for there is only two kingdoms, the kingdom of God, and the kingdom of Satan) for the destruction of the flesh, ( is evidently that he might crucified the flesh in his repentance, as he did in his obedience to the gospel Paul said' Gal.2:20 I am crucified with Christ;) that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. This is what the Church does when it withdraw from an erring member they are turned over to Satan.
KJV the word Delivered, and the word turned over, are the same GREEK WORD
NT:3860
<START GREEK>paradi/dwmi
<END GREEK> paradidomi (par-ad-id'-o-mee); from NT:3844 and NT:1325; to surrender, i.e yield up, intrust, transmit:
