Article #1 - SETTING GOALS IN LIFE
Garreth L. Clair
Our goals in life will definitely be observed in the way that we live our
lives. Our lifestyle tells a lot about our goals in life. Let me illustrate
this idea,
If my goal in life is to please God and ultimately go to heaven there are
certain things about my conduct that will be observable to everyone around me.
1. I will assemble with the church as often as I possibly can,
Heb 10:24-26,
24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good
works:
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner
of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the
day approaching.
26 For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge
of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, (KJV)
2. I will give of my money so that the church can do all of the work
that God has assigned it,
Matthew 6:33, "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his
righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."
1 Corinthians 16:1-2
1 Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given
order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye.
2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in
store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
(KJV)
3. I will do everything that I am able to do to encourage peace and
unity in the congregation where I am a member. I will be kind, forgiving,
long-suffering, and always seeking the glory of God in all my personal
activities that relate to the church.
Ephesians 4:2-6,
2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing
one another in love;
3 Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one
hope of your calling;
5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and
in you all.
4. I will practice brotherly love, I will do that which promotes love
among brethren in all of my activities even when I must approach a brother
or sister who are entangled in sin and need to be restored to faithfulness.
Galatians 6:1-2
1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are
spiritual, restore such a one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest
thou also be tempted.
2 Bear you one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
1 Thessalonians 4:9 "But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I
write unto you: for you yourselves are taught of God to love one another."
Hebrews 13:1, Let brotherly love continue." (KJV)
5. I will never compromise God's Holy Word. I must never become
so entangled in a situation that I would be willing to make concessions about
the Word of God for any matter., John 8:32, "And ye shall know the
truth, and the truth shall make you free."
Jude 1:3, "Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the
common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that
ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the
saints. - 2 Timothy 3:16-17
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable
for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all
good works.

AND
PURSUE THEM WITH VIGOR
Article #2 - BEING FAITHFUL
Garreth L. Clair
Today many people that consider themselves faithful are in reality, “
unfaithful." In this short article we will address this problem.
DEFINITION OF 'FAITHFUL"
1. Adhering firmly and devotedly; loyal.
2. Worthy of trust; reliable.
3. Accurate; true"
(THE AMERICAN HERITAGE DICTIONARY, Third Edition, Page 303, column 2)
THE BIBLE DEFINITION OF FAITHFUL
Hebrews 10:24-25
24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good
works:
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner
of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day
approaching. (KJV)
I John 2:15-17
15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If
any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust
of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the
world.
17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth
the will of God abideth for ever. (KJV)
Matthew 6:33
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and
all these things shall be added unto you.
Revelation 2:10
10 Fear none of those things which thou shall suffer: behold, the
devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall
have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a
crown of life.
2 Timothy 4:7-8
7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept
the faith:
8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which
the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me
only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
1 Peter 1:4-5
4 to an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that faded not
away, reserved in heaven for you,
5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation
ready to be revealed in the last time?
"THIS IS WHAT FAITHFUL/FAITHFULNESS IS.”
