Brethren and Friends, Jim Sasser here. A very good Thursday
morning to each and everyone. May God bless you and yours.
Here is an article from my files:

A BLESSING TO OTHERS

In Gen. 12, we sometimes limit our thinking of God's Words to Abraham.
"Go...to a land I will show you," "I will
make you a great nation," "I will bless those that bless you
and curse those who curse you." There is a simple applicat-
ion for ourselves that we can miss if we are only thinking of
Abraham and the nation of Israel.

In vs. 2, Abraham is told, "I will bless you and make your
name great. And so you shall be a blessing."

Consider that Abraham was blessed, so that he could be
a blessing to others. What he was told was not for his own
selfish enjoyment, but for the welfare and betterment of others -- the
promise of Christ.

The same is true in a sense with Christians today. The
Lord has been a tremendous blessing in our lives and wants
us to share it with others. Thsoe who are Christians are sav-
ed to "save." Although our relationship to Chrit brings us
personal joy, He redeems us that we might go out and "preach the gospel to
every creature" (Mk. 16:15,16). We can
bless others by our blessings.

Let us strive to be a blessing to others, by teaching them
the gospel. -------- Shane Williams in The Lilbourn Light, Vol.
