Today's posting will be a little unique in that it is in some respects a
help wanted ad.  If you know of someone wanting to get started preaching
please forward this to them.  We try to follow Bible examples in our service
and this is one of those efforts. 

 

The article below is written by my fellow elder, you can contact either of
us if you are interested. 

 

I still have a research piece to do on Islam's version of paradise, slavery,
Jesus vs. Muhammad.  If you have anyone to add to this list please forward
and I will be glad to do so.  This last series has been bouncing all over
the world.  I have heard back from Poland, England, South Africa, India, the
Philippines and Israel.  

Obviously we struck a nerve.

Brethren,

 

The Pleasant Valley Church of Christ in Wichita KS is seeking a young man to
work with us in a year-long preacher internship program. This program is
designed to provide a young man who desires to preach with practical,
real-world experience in all elements of a preacher's work, but in an
atmosphere of positive support and guidance. The program will expose the
candidate to a structured workload including sermon preparation and
delivery, teaching Bible classes, home studies, small group participation,
visitor follow-up, and bulletin writing and preparation. 

 

The ideal candidate would be a Christian desiring to preach the gospel as
his life's endeavor, either married or single, who is prepared to locate to
Wichita for a full year, preferably beginning in June of this year. A
full-time salary will be provided. 

 

The Pleasant Valley church has three elders, four deacons, and a full-time
evangelist (who also serves as one of the elders). One of the elders is a
former full-time evangelist. The congregation currently has about 80-90 in
attendance. We are an active, vibrant church, excited about the Lord's work,
and at peace with one another. We maintain an aggressive program of personal
evangelism, resulting in a number of baptisms in recent years. More

We recently completed an internship with another young man, Sam Stinson. It
was a highly successful program for everyone involved. We can provide Sam's
