                   Joining Various Movements

            I’m not much of a “joiner” in movements;
          Especially those started by uninspired men;
           While I may agree with the cause espoused;
           Their methods often cause me much chagrin!

        I’d rather change minds and actions by teaching;
          Not with pressure nor with economic appeals;
        When such tactics are used for changing actions;
       Those folks are usually of the same opinion still!

       The gospel appeals to man’s intellect, his heart;
         Change one’s mind and the battle is about won;
       One who accepts Jesus as his Lord and his Master;
      Will then follow the teaching of the crucified one!

            “In Christ” one becomes a new creature;
           The penitent believer is now dead to sin;
           Then he’s buried in the grave of baptism;
            He is then raised the new life to begin!

        He doesn’t think about bombing abortion clinics;
       Nor would he think of killing doctors so skilled;
        If I get a chance to teach him Christ’s gospel;
         That doctor won’t seek unborn babies to kill!
