[Biblemat] S> Why I Believe In Defending Genesis

Today's sermons here were: What is Ahead For You in 2008? - Things to consider as you plan your strategy for living in 2008.  What you decide today effects a lot of things and a lot of other lives.  Will I stay the same?  Will I die this year?  Will I be prepared? Will I be a good soldier of the cross?  We need to plan a strategy for making good decisions.  What decisions are you making?

The second lesson:  WHY I BELIEVE IN DEFENDING GENESIS, is an appeal to consider how that the whole gospel is built on the foundation of the truth of Genesis' opening chapters.  If we do not believe and defend it against the attacks of evolution and liberalism, we will not be able or willing to defend the rest of the Bible.  If we do not equip our students on the foundational premise of the gospel, and cast down the imaginations of men and the human wisdom that undermines the truth of Genesis, they will be unprepared to face the challenges of "the wisdom of this world" in the various school and media that tries to reduce Genesis to "myth".  We must not be so impressed with the wisdom of this age that we forget that Genesis is God's eyewitness testimony. Let God be true and every man a liar. If Genesis is not factual and true then Jesus was wrong too. He believed in the truths of Genesis. Was the Son of God mistaken too? The New Testament asserts the truthfulness and historicity of the opening chapters of Genesis.  If we cannot or will not defend it there, we lose credibility on the rest, and our labors in the gospel are to be pitied.  God has made the wisdom of this world foolish.
